VS Factory Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm 126000 Review: How Good Is the Pink Dial Version?

This time I want to talk about the VS Factory Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm, reference 126000. Other factories have made this model before, including EW and GS, but if we focus on the current VS version, I do think it has some clear strengths of its own, especially in overall finishing and consistency.

The watch is 36mm, which puts it in a very wearable, unisex size range. That said, the example here comes with the candy pink dial, and this color naturally gives the watch a softer and more refined character. It does not mean men cannot wear it, but visually it leans toward a more elegant and delicate style.

The Dial Color Is the Main Highlight

For most people, the first concern with this pink dial version is color accuracy. That is completely understandable, because when a special dial color is slightly off, the whole watch can lose its charm.

From what I have seen on this VS version, the dial tone is controlled very well. It is not a bright or overly loud pink. Instead, it stays in a softer, lighter, more premium-looking range, closer to a subtle flesh pink or pastel pink tone. That matters a lot, because the Oyster Perpetual is a simple design. It relies heavily on dial color, proportions, surface texture, and overall balance rather than visual complexity.

Once the color feels right, the watch immediately becomes much more convincing on the wrist.

Dial Details and Finishing Are Also Nicely Done

Beyond the color, the dial details on this VS 126000 are quite clean.

The applied hour markers with luminous filling look crisp and well-proportioned, and the hands appear better finished than before. Their edges look cleaner, with less visual roughness under close inspection. Even the center pinion feels more solid and better defined, which helps the dial look more complete overall.

Small details like the Rolex crown logo and the surface finishing are also handled well. On a watch with such a clean design, these details matter even more because there is nowhere to hide. Your eyes go straight to the dial, the markers, and the hands.

The Bracelet Has Improved Compared with Earlier Batches

One of the complaints people had about earlier VS Oyster Perpetual releases was the bracelet. In particular, the three-link bracelet could show slightly visible gaps between the links, which reduced the overall sense of refinement.

On the latest version I have seen, that issue has been improved noticeably. The bracelet looks tighter, cleaner, and more complete than before.

As for comfort, I have always felt that VS steel bracelets are actually decent in daily wear. Of course, they are not identical to the genuine watch in terms of ultimate softness and rounded finishing, but for regular use they are absolutely acceptable and still feel good on the wrist.

If you are very particular about the side feel of the bracelet, there is also a simple trick: a very light touch with a fine sanding sponge can make the edges feel even smoother. It is not necessary, but it can improve the tactile feel quite a bit.

The Main Strengths: Looks, QC, and Everyday Wearability

If I had to summarize the strengths of this VS Factory Oyster Perpetual 126000, I would put them very clearly:

The dial color stands out.
The overall QC is solid.
And the watch wears very easily in daily life.

Some watches look decent at first glance, but once you start checking closely, you keep finding small flaws. This VS piece does not give me that feeling. It feels more balanced and more consistent overall, which makes it easier to recommend.

The Biggest Weak Point: The Movement Setup Is Not True to the Original 3230 Layout

The biggest talking point here is not the exterior. It is the movement.

The genuine Rolex Oyster Perpetual 126000 uses the Rolex 3230 movement. However, there is no clone 3230 available from Dandong at the moment, so VS uses a 3235-based movement instead, with the date position hidden behind the dial.

That creates one obvious issue: when setting the watch, there is an extra “empty crown position.”

After unscrewing the crown, the first position is manual winding. Pull it further and you get a blank position. Pull it again and that is where time-setting begins. So the weakness here is not movement reliability. In fact, the 3235 platform is chosen partly because it is proven and stable. The real downside is that its operating structure does not perfectly match the no-date original.

Is That a Serious Problem?

In my opinion, it depends on what kind of buyer you are.

If you want every functional detail to match the genuine watch exactly, then this will bother you, and you should be honest with yourself about that. But if your priority is overall appearance, dial quality, finishing, and daily wrist presence, then this issue is much less important in real-world use.

Most people are not constantly pulling out the crown and adjusting the time in front of others. In everyday wear, what people actually notice is the size, the dial tone, the polishing, and the overall look on the wrist.

So yes, the empty crown position is a real flaw. But for many buyers, it is not a dealbreaker.

My Final View

If you like the clean style of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual and prefer the refined proportions of the 36mm case, this VS Factory 126000 with the pink dial is definitely worth a serious look.

What makes it appealing is not one exaggerated selling point. It is the overall balance. The dial color feels premium, the dial furniture is well executed, the bracelet has improved, and the watch is easy to wear every day.

The only thing you need to accept in advance is the 3235-based movement setup and the extra empty crown position during adjustment.

If you can live with that, this is still a very attractive and well-finished piece for everyday wear.
