Omega and the Olympics go way back. This is actually the 27th time Omega has served as official timekeeper for the Games — pretty wild when you think about it. To mark the occasion, Omega dropped the Seamaster 150M in three colorways as a commemorative edition.

VS Factory picked up two of the three: blue dial and black dial. The white dial version hasn't been repped yet.

Now here's the thing — in terms of case construction, bracelet, and movement, these are essentially the same watch as the regular VS Seamaster 150M. Same build quality, same specs. The Olympic edition is really about the dial and the story behind it. So let's get into the details.

I'll focus mostly on the blue dial here. It just looks better in hand. More vibrant, more youthful. The black is solid too, but we'll get to that later.

Specs at a Glance

The Dial

The blue wave pattern on this thing is genuinely eye-catching. You get that signature Omega wave texture across the entire dial surface, plus a sunburst effect layered underneath. Under different lighting it shifts and plays — really nice to look at.

Hands and hour markers are all done in gold tone, matching the gen color exactly. One thing to keep in mind though: gen uses 18K gold for these elements. The rep doesn't. That's a material difference you'll find across pretty much all reps at this price point, not unique to this particular ref.

Crown & Date Setting

Screw-down crown. Unscrew it and you're in the winding position. Pull to the first click for date — it's a quick-set system, two full turns to advance one day. And yes, the date can be set backwards too, which is a nice touch. Second click is for time setting. Whole operation feels identical to how the gen works.

Case & Bracelet Finishing

Full 316L stainless steel construction. The case sides have a brushed finish and honestly the brushing is done really well — clean, consistent lines with good depth.

Bracelet is the classic Omega layout: polished center links, brushed outer links. Fair warning — that polished center section picks up desk-diving scratches fast. Clasp is a push-button double fold deployment. The Omega logo engraving on it is nice and deep, not shallow or mushy. Open it up and the interior finishing is clean. No complaints there.

The VS 8500 Movement

This is where VS Factory really earns its reputation.

Balance wheel sits at 6 o'clock — correct position matching gen. The shock absorber shape is also accurate, replicating that Incabloc-style design the genuine uses. Balance wheel color is black, again matching the authentic piece.

Look closely at the balance wheel area and you'll spot four adjustment weights. Now, to be real — on the rep these are decorative. Actual rate adjustment is still done via the regulator. But the fact that VS bothered to include them says something about the level of detail they're going for. Movement finishing and plating color both look right. Caseback engravings are clean.

Worth mentioning: the gen Omega 8500 is an anti-magnetic movement rated up to 15,000 gauss. That's an insanely high spec. The genuine caliber achieves this because most of the movement components are made from silicon, which is naturally resistant to magnetic fields. The rep obviously doesn't match that level of magnetic resistance. Just something to be aware of.

Black Dial Version

Quick rundown on the black dial — same wave pattern, same sunburst effect underneath. Gold hands, gold indices. Everything except the dial color is basically identical to the blue version.

Final Thoughts

Both of these VS Factory Omega Seamaster 150M Olympic editions deliver what you'd expect from VS at this point. Build quality is there. Details are there. The overall accuracy to gen is solid.

If you're into the Seamaster line but find the standard 150M a bit too common — everyone and their TD seems to carry one — these Olympic commemorative refs offer something a little different. More conversation-worthy on the wrist.

One personal note. The gold-toned hands and markers on both versions do skew a bit mature in terms of overall vibe. Not necessarily a bad thing, depends on your style. But if you're after something that reads younger, just keep that in mind before pulling the trigger.

The watches themselves though? No issues. VS continues to do what VS does best with the Seamaster line.
