VSF Omega Seamaster 300 V4 Black Dial vs Gen

VSF Seamaster 300 V4 review. Both diver, both black, no color difference between them.

The left one is the VS factory V4 version, the right one is the authentic original.

First look

Left side is VSF. Right side is gen.

VSF vs gen, size check

Diver, 42mm. VSF thickness 13.78mm. Gen thickness 13.9mm.

Weight on the gen is 193.8g. VSF comes in at 194.2g.

The case size and thickness on the VSF runs almost identical to gen.

The authentic original weighs 193 grams, the VS factory version weighs 194 grams.

Ceramic bezel up close

Bezel pearl first. Not that pale white look on the VSF. Width and the shade on the pearl, almost identical.

Crystal sits a touch higher than the ceramic bezel.

Black ceramic dial, side by side

Both ceramic. Wave pattern depth — gen on this side.

Printing on the markers, close-up. The V4 looks a bit newer. Gen lume is older, oxidized a little, slightly yellow. After some wear, the V4 will go a touch yellow too.

Hands match gen on the cap

Cap shape on the hands matches gen. Hand size the same. Lume fill the same.

Red on the second hand

Red bit: this is VSF, this is gen. Gen’s red is just a shade deeper. You can see it.

Markers 1 to 9

The digits 1 through 9. VSF prints them a touch thicker. All black. Otherwise the same.

Lume fill evenness across the dial, near identical.

Aged look matches gen

Logo, lume pearl, bezel aging — the V4 reads close to the worn gen.

No step at the edges. Smooth to the touch.

Crown unscrewed

Crown silhouette near identical. Unscrew it, the red waterproof gasket shows. Screw it down. Gen has the red gasket too.

VSF crown sound varies a bit. Gen sounds a touch nicer. Gen feels smoother on release.

Setting the date

Pull the crown one click. Date scrolls down — 4, 5, 6, 7. Time set, also scrolls down. Quick-set date.

Gen’s quick-set

Gen’s quick-set date. Push back in. Winding is light. The rustling sound isn’t heavy.

DD8800 inside the VSF

VSF runs the DD8800 integrated. Date direction matches gen. Pull one click, date scrolls down.

Old version scrolled up. New integrated, date direction matches gen. Time direction matches gen too. Quick-set on the date.

Winding sound is light too. Date direction and winding feel on the VSF run near identical to gen.

Bracelet clasp done like gen

Bracelet next. Clasp profile almost the same as gen. One-touch open. Gen shows wear too. Brushing nearly identical.

Pivot hole, slight gap

Inside the one-touch clasp, the pivot area. Compare these holes — VSF hole is a touch smaller, gen hole opens a touch wider.

Slight difference here.

DD8800 vs gen 8800

Caseback movement. VSF DD8800. Same angle on the gen — you can see some differences.

Gen is free-sprung — one small device, real shock absorber. VSF has the real shock absorber too. The VSF has one extra small piece sticking out. That’s the only difference.

Screw positions all the same. Direction matches gen. Black balance.

Position a touch left.

Engraving differs on the right

VSF has engraving here. But on the right, VSF doesn’t have engraving. Gen has engraving on the right. Slight difference there.

Balance wheel size same. Depth same. The two holes near identical. Flip around — position near identical too.

Finishing on the integrated

Whole movement layout, screws, all very close to gen. Replication is high on this integrated.

Gen movement finishing isn’t super bright. Slightly dark. The VSF integrated also runs slightly dark.

Like those generic clone movements — plating runs too shiny. Obvious tell. Not right.

Caseback engraving up close

Caseback engraving definition is high. Case top engraving, caseback engraving — nearly the same. Edges near identical. Bracelet edge work too. Display caseback replication is high.
