VS Factory Omega Seamaster 215.92.46.22.03.001 – The "Ocean Blue" Nobody Expected

What's up guys, vsfwatcheshub here. So VS Factory dropped something pretty wild recently — their take on the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 215.92.46.22.03.001, aka the "Ocean Blue". Full blue ceramic. Custom movement. And honestly? It might be one of the best pieces they've ever put out.

Let me break it down.

How It Compares to the Deep Black

If you've been around the rep game for a while, you probably already own or at least know about the Omega Seamaster "Deep Black" series. Same 45.5mm case. Same overall design DNA. The Ocean Blue is essentially its sibling — but in a completely different colorway that hits way harder in person.

Where the Deep Black goes full stealth mode with black ceramic, this one flips the script with blue ceramic everywhere. Bezel, case, crown, clasp — all blue ceramic. Not painted, not coated. Actual ceramic. And that matters because blue ceramic is significantly harder to manufacture than black. The reject rate during production is brutal.

Why the VS Factory Version Stands Out

Look, there's a reason VS dominates the Seamaster lineup in the rep market. Their Deep Black was already considered the gold standard. This Ocean Blue? Same level of execution, arguably even more impressive given the material challenges.

A few things worth noting.

The blue ceramic is legit. VS Factory themselves said this might be a one-batch run because of how difficult the ceramic processing is. Low yield rate = limited stock. Once it's gone, it's probably gone for good.

Color accuracy is spot on. I know some of you are thinking — blue ceramic, there's gotta be color variance, right? Nope. The blue tone, the orange accents, the dial elements — everything lines up with gen. You can put them side by side and it holds up.

Fully custom 8906 movement. This isn't your typical rep movement where they slap some decoration plates onto a base caliber and call it a day. VS disassembled the genuine 8906, reverse-engineered it, and built their own from the ground up. Every component inside is purpose-made. Big difference.

Dial & Bezel — The Details That Matter

The dial keeps it classic Seamaster. Applied indices and hands with lume fill — and if you look closely the lume application is super even, no sloppy edges. VS Factory's finishing game has been consistently on point lately. Honestly, nothing they've released recently has disappointed.

Functionality on the dial: hours, minutes, seconds via central hands, plus an orange GMT hand. The 6, 9, and 12 markers are done in orange. There's an inner GMT scale ring in orange too. The whole color scheme has this layered depth to it — blue ceramic base, silver-white markings, pops of orange. Works really well together.

The bezel is unidirectional counterclockwise — as it should be on a dive watch. Clicking action is crisp with zero mushiness. There's a 15-minute dive scale on the first quarter. Nothing to complain about here.

Strap & Clasp

VS Factory Omega Seamaster 215.92.46.22.03.001 comes on a blue rubber strap with orange stitching along the edges — ties in nicely with the dial's color theme. The deployant clasp is blue ceramic as well (not just the case), and it's a simple dual-push butterfly design. Easy on, easy off.

Specs — Real Measurements

Spec Measured
Case Diameter 45.5mm (actual ~45.3mm)
Thickness ~16.5mm
Weight (on rubber) ~150g

One thing that surprises people — this watch is heavy. Even on rubber it comes in around 150g, which is heavier than most steel bracelet watches by about 10g. You'll feel it on the wrist, and honestly that heft adds to the premium feel. Just be aware: 45.5mm is a big watch. If you've got smaller wrists, maybe try before you commit.

How to Operate It

Two crowns on this piece. Here's what each does.

9 o'clock — Helium escape valve. It's a decompression valve for deep diving. For 99% of us, you'll never need to touch it. Just leave it screwed down tight.

3 o'clock — Main crown (screw-down):

Unscrew counterclockwise first to release it. Then —

  • Position 0 (pushed in, not pulled): Wind it clockwise. If the watch has been sitting or it's brand new, give it 30–50 turns of manual winding before wearing.
  • Position 1 (pulled out one click): Rotate clockwise to quick-set the date via the hour hand. Works both directions, just like gen. Don't go back and forth too aggressively though — not great for the date wheel gears long term.
  • Position 1 also lets you adjust the GMT hand independently from the hour hand. Push it forward or pull it back to set your second timezone.
  • Position 2 (pulled out fully): Set the time by moving the minute hand. Clockwise.

Done? Push the crown back in and screw it down clockwise to lock. Simple as that.

Final Word

This VS Factory Omega Seamaster 215.92.46.22.03.001 Ocean Blue is the real deal as far as reps go. Blue ceramic quality, dial finishing, the custom 8906 movement — it all comes together at a level that's hard to beat right now. And with VS saying this could be a limited production run, scarcity is a real factor.

If the Ocean Blue has been on your radar — don't sleep on it. This batch might be the only one.
