VS Factory Omega De Ville 431.30.41.21.02.001 – Steel Bracelet Edition, Full Breakdown

What's up guys, it's Xiao Hui from vsfwatcheshub. So VS Factory finally dropped the steel bracelet version of the Omega De Ville Hour Vision 431.30.41.21.02.001 and honestly? It was about time.

They already had the leather strap version out — the 21P — and it was solid. But a lot of people were waiting on the full metal bracelet config. Gen retails around $8,000 USD. One thing worth noting: the steel bracelet Hour Vision isn't even that easy to find at Omega boutiques, so the fact that VS jumped on it is a nice move.

What's in the Box

Standard VS Factory packaging. Plastic wrap on everything, warranty card included, the usual set. The card has serial codes printed on it and they do the whole five-code-match thing. But let's be real — if you've been around reps long enough you know VS reuses codes across units. Gen is one-watch-one-code, unique every time. Not a dealbreaker by any means, just something to be aware of.

Dial and Case — Up Close

Case is 316L stainless steel, same as gen. No surprises there.

Now the dial. This is where the Hour Vision really does its thing. That blue shimmer on the seconds hand shifts depending on the angle you're looking at — it catches light differently every time you move your wrist. Hard to describe in words but if you know, you know. The center axis area has an openworked design, and when you look through the case you can see the finishing inside is genuinely impressive. The lugs are nicely polished too.

Hands have this subtle brushed satin texture which matches gen. Seconds hand, minute hand — both clean. The hour hand though, if you really get in there with a loupe, you might catch some very minor burrs along the edge. It's tiny stuff. And look, the price gap between this and a gen is massive so expecting perfection at every microscopic level isn't realistic. If they eliminated every last imperfection the price would go up accordingly.

Dimensions

Here are the numbers I measured:

Spec Value
Case Diameter 41mm
Thickness 14.3mm

14.3mm is on the thicker side for a dress watch. No getting around that. But this matches gen spec exactly — it's not a VS Factory issue, it's just how Omega designed the Hour Vision. The transparent caseback and the movement inside need that depth.

Case Profile and Gold Accents

Both sides of the case are transparent. Looks great.

The gold-toned section features the Omega logo — the Ω engraving is sharp and legible. On gen this part is 18K gold. On the VS version it's gold plating, obviously. But the tone and shine? Actually pretty convincing. You'd need them side by side to really tell.

The Arabic numeral markers around the outer ring are printed cleanly, English text engravings are crisp. These small details add up and VS clearly put effort into getting them right on this particular reference.

Movement

VS went with their clone 8500 automatic movement here. Same as before, nothing new on that front.

What IS worth talking about is the architecture — it's a double barrel setup, matching gen's internal layout. The practical benefit: even when you're not wearing it, this thing holds power reserve way longer than your typical single-barrel clone. Noticeably longer.

One difference from gen though. VS added a regulator pin — so it's a regulated movement. Gen uses a free-sprung balance with weights for precision adjustment, no regulator. Visually you'll spot an extra post on the balance wheel that isn't there on gen. Balance wheel color is black, same as authentic. Everything else in the movement architecture lines up.

Crystal Hardness Test — Real Numbers

I actually tested this one with a hardness gauge because VS themselves said they stopped using sapphire on the side crystals for the De Ville line. So I wanted to verify.

Results:

Position Hardness Material
Front Crystal Grade 7–8 Sapphire
Caseback Crystal Grade 7–8 Sapphire
Side Crystal Grade 3–4 Mineral Glass

So yeah, VS wasn't kidding. The side windows are mineral glass — only 3 to 4 on the hardness scale. Front and back are legit sapphire at 7–8. The surfaces you actually touch and expose to daily wear are protected. The sides… just don't go banging them against door frames and you'll be fine.

Bracelet and Wrist Feel

The steel bracelet is seriously comfortable. Flexible, smooth on the wrist, very much in line with what you'd expect from the De Ville line. Finishing follows the classic pattern — larger links are brushed, smaller links are polished. The contrast looks sharp.

My wrist is about 19.5cm and the bracelet was a bit long. If you're under 20cm you'll probably want to remove a link or two. Clasp is a double-push butterfly deployment, same design as gen. Opens and closes smoothly, and the polishing on the clasp body itself is well done. Big factory quality shows in these little things.

Final Thoughts

Not gonna do a whole dramatic summary here. You've seen the details.

The VS Factory De Ville 431.30.41.21.02.001 steel bracelet version delivers where it counts — 316L steel, clone 8500 with double barrel, sapphire on front and back. The tells are minor: slight hour hand burrs, mineral glass on the side windows, regulated vs free-sprung balance. For the price point these are totally acceptable trade-offs.

If you've been eyeing the Hour Vision in steel, this is probably the best version available right now from any factory. Hit up vsfwatcheshub if you want more details. Catch you in the next review.
