Authenticity Comparison: VS Factory Omega Ceramic Seamaster 300M vs. Genuine Appraisal

VS Factory Omega Seamaster 300 — 210.92.44.20.01.001 Hands-On Review

So VS Factory dropped something interesting. This isn't just another Seamaster 300 — the 210.92.44.20.01.001 is the ceramic and titanium edition, and it's a completely different beast from the regular steel version most people are familiar with. I've had it on wrist for a bit now, and honestly there's a lot to talk about.

Let me break down what makes this one stand out.

What's Different From the Standard Seamaster 300?

Three things jumped out immediately.

The size. This is a 43.5mm case — the biggest in the entire Seamaster 300 lineup. The standard new Seamaster 300 sits at 42mm, so we're talking a noticeable bump here. Not huge, but you can tell.

Materials are where it really separates itself. The mid-case is full ceramic, and the crown, caseback, and helium escape valve are all titanium. Nothing like the regular steel version. Totally different feel on wrist.

And then there's the caseback. VS used Omega's Naiad Lock system on this one — same tech you see on the Deep Black models. Instead of threading the caseback on with a tool, it clicks into position so the engravings always stay perfectly aligned. Nice touch.

First Impressions — Lighter Than You'd Expect

Picked this up and the first thing that hit me was how clean everything looks. The finishing across the whole watch is genuinely impressive. That transparency and depth you get from the ceramic — VS nailed it. Comes really close to gen in terms of overall feel and visual quality.

Here's what surprised me though. Despite being 43.5mm, it weighs about the same as the standard 42mm steel Seamaster 300 once you've got it on the rubber strap. That's the ceramic-titanium combo doing its thing. It's light. Like, noticeably light for a diver this size.

And the 43.5mm doesn't wear as big as you'd think. The lug-to-lug and overall proportions keep it from looking like a dinner plate on your wrist. I was a little worried about that going in, but no — it sits really well.

Dial and Bezel — This Is Where It Gets Good

OK so the dial. ZrO2 ceramic with the wave pattern. If you've handled the regular Seamaster 300 and thought it looked good, this takes it up a level. The ceramic dial just has this depth to it that steel dials can't match. Lume plots are filled cleanly, no complaints there.

One thing to note — no date window on this ref. The dial is completely symmetrical and clean. Some guys prefer it, some don't. Personally I think it looks better without the date but that's just me.

The ceramic bezel insert uses an enamel-filled process for the markings and scale. Big deal here: it won't grey out or discolor over time. I've seen zero reports from buyers about fading, even after extended daily wear. That's been a pain point on cheaper reps for years so it's good to see VS sorting that out.

Case Construction and the HEV

Mid-case is ceramic. Crown guard, helium escape valve, and caseback — all titanium. If this whole thing were stainless steel at 43.5mm, the weight difference would be massive. But with this material split the total weight only differs by maybe a gram or two compared to the regular 42mm model. Pretty impressive engineering honestly.

The helium escape valve is the conical style, same as what Omega uses on the current-gen Seamaster lineup. Polarizing design — some people love it, others think it looks a bit off. Your call on that one.

Strap and Clasp

Multiple strap options available for this one. Rubber, canvas — you can pick up extras separately if you want to switch things up. The stock clasp is polished ceramic and it feels solid. Really solid. Good weight to it without being heavy.

Markings on the clasp and along the strap are all present — "Seamaster" branding, Omega text, everything where it should be. The rubber strap itself has a nice texture and the overall feel is on point.

Naiad Lock Caseback

Flip it over and you've got the Naiad Lock system. Engravings include the 300m / 1000ft water resistance rating, all crisp and properly aligned. Unlike the standard screwin caseback on regular models, this one uses a positioning system — the caseback locks into a specific orientation so the text never ends up crooked. It's one of those details that's easy to overlook but makes a difference when you actually inspect the watch up close.

VS reproduced this well. Alignment is consistent.

Movement — Decorated 8806 Clone

Under the hood it's a Seagull 2836 base with the 8806 dress plate installed on top. Because there's no date complication on this reference, you'll feel a blank position when setting the time — totally normal, just how the movement works without the date module.

Black rotor. Arched balance bridge shock absorber. Free-sprung regulator. All the visual cues are there.

Now here's where VS really flexes. The finishing on the dress plate is genuinely good. Omega logos, brand engravings, Co-Axial markings, shock absorber serial codes — everything's present and accounted for. Even under magnification the surfaces look clean with no rough edges or sloppy machining. I'll say it straight: when it comes to movement decoration, VS is the best in the game right now. Nobody else is even close.

Bottom Line

The VS Factory Omega Seamaster 300 ref. 210.92.44.20.01.001 in ceramic and titanium is a strong release. Detail accuracy, material quality, movement stability — all solid across the board. If you're into the idea of a Seamaster 300 that doesn't look like everyone else's, this is the one to look at.

Only real trade-off? No date. For some guys that's a dealbreaker. For others it's actually a plus — cleaner dial, more symmetrical look. Comes down to personal preference.

But if you're cool with that, this watch delivers. Comfortable on wrist, well built, and the ceramic-titanium combo gives it a feel that the standard steel version just can't replicate.
