VS Factory Omega Seamaster 300 210.20.42.20.01.001 – Full Breakdown of the V2 Rose Gold

So VS Factory dropped a rose gold colorway for their Seamaster 300 210.20.42.20.01.001 not too long ago. The base ref has been out for months now and it's still selling like crazy, which honestly says a lot. Figured I'd use this new color release as an excuse to go through the whole V2 and talk about what actually changed.

The Movement Situation

Let's get this out of the way first because everyone asks. Is it an integrated movement? No. Not yet. The Seamaster 300 is the last Omega rep in VS Factory's lineup that still runs a decorated Seagull — a franken plate movement. The cal. 8800 is structurally quite different from the older 8500, and a proper clone just hasn't happened yet.

42mm case, 13.6mm thick. Right on the money compared to gen specs.

What Did V2 Actually Fix?

Bracelet Gap

The endlink-to-case fitment on V1 was noticeably wide. Fixed now — sits flush, matches gen.

Balance Wheel Color

VS swapped the yellow-tinted balance wheel for a black one. Small thing but it bugged people who knew what to look for. Correct color now.

Shock Absorber Redesign

This one surprised me. They went in and reworked the shock absorber into a dual-T screw configuration — left and right sides look like two mirrored T shapes. Most smaller factories wouldn't bother touching something like this. It's the kind of detail that separates VS from the budget tier.

Lume — Not Just Eye Candy

The lume on the VS Factory Seamaster 300 210.20.42.20.01.001 is done right. Hour hand and the pip on the bezel glow green. Everything else — indices, minute hand — goes blue. Matches gen exactly.

And there's a functional reason for the split colors. It's a diver's watch. You're supposed to be able to tell your minute hand apart from the bezel marker in the dark, fast. Set the pip five minutes ahead of your minute hand before you go under, and when the two meet, time's up. Pretty elegant once you think about it.

Dial and Ceramic

Full ceramic dial. The surface clarity on this thing is nuts — reflective enough to almost work as a mirror. The wave pattern etching across the face gives it that signature Seamaster texture without feeling overdone.

Below center you'll spot the Ω logo and a small "ZrO₂" engraving. Zirconium dioxide, the main compound in ceramic. It's there on gen too, and VS kept it.

Gold Plating and the Small Stuff

Rose gold tone shows up on the bezel numerals, the crown, and the HEV (helium escape valve).

Quick thing about that HEV — it's decorative for most people, sure, but on this rep it actually unscrews. Pop it open and you'll find a red gasket inside. Same as gen. Little details like that, you know?

At 12 o'clock there's an "Au750" stamp. That's the marking for 18K gold. Logo's right next to it. All present and accounted for.

Bracelet and Rubber Strap

Steel bracelet. Clasp has the Omega logo, fold-over style. Press both sides, it pops. Push to close. Inside there's a micro-adjust — press the button, it slides out, press again, slides back.

One note though. When you extend the micro-adjust, the tip sticks out past the clasp edge. Doesn't look great on wrist. My suggestion: size it properly by removing links and save the micro-adjust for when you actually need it. That's what it was designed for anyway — you throw on a wetsuit, your wrist gets thicker, you pop the micro-adjust instead of fiddling with links underwater.

Rubber strap. Comfortable, nicely finished. Omega branding on the clasp. The rose gold version comes with a black strap; the blue dial variant gets a matching blue one.

Bottom Line

The VS Factory Omega Seamaster 300 210.20.42.20.01.001 V2 is a legit step up. Bracelet fitment, balance wheel, shock absorber — all addressed. Lume accuracy, ceramic quality, gold plating details, even the gasket color inside the HEV. Still a plate movement, yeah, but the overall package holds up strong. If you're looking at Seamaster 300 reps right now, this is the one most people are going with. Hard to argue against it.
