Look, I don't recommend stuff lightly. But when VS Factory dropped these two new Seamaster refs, I knew they had to go on the site. Been handling reps for a while now and these genuinely surprised me.

Three reasons, real quick.

The aesthetics are just right — colorway, lume, proportions, all of it hits. Then there's the movement. VS is using their in-house 8500 clone here, same one from the Seamaster 150M that's been bulletproof for years. I'm talking five, six years of zero returns from guys who bought early batches. That kind of track record speaks for itself. And the price? Under 2000 RMB for this level of build quality and movement reliability. Yeah. Go ahead and pull the trigger.

The 75th Anniversary Limited Edition — All Blue Everything

So Omega put out a 75th anniversary collection last year. It spanned the Seamaster 150M, 300M, 600M, Planet Ocean, Ploprof — basically the whole dive lineup got the anniversary treatment, all in blue. VS Factory's rep nails it.

The caseback is the highlight honestly. You've got Poseidon holding a trident, riding two seahorses — it's a solid relief engraving and looks fantastic in hand. This one's a solid caseback too, no display window, which means there's basically nothing to call out. One less thing to worry about.

Gen retails for just over 60,000 RMB. Case diameter is 41mm — I measured it, dead on. Thickness sits around 13.7mm with the protective film still on, consistent with the original. The bi-directional ceramic bezel has a really satisfying click to it and the bezel insert is clean. No wonky alignment, no color mismatch on the indices.

The dial has this sandwich-style layering going on that gives it depth you don't expect at this price point. Pair that with the domed sapphire crystal and you catch a subtle fisheye distortion at certain angles. Pretty cool detail. Crown is screw-down so water resistance is legit.

Black-Grey Colorway — Understated but Stacked with Lume

Now the other one. Black-grey combo with a matte-finish ceramic bezel. Feels different in hand compared to the blue — a bit more stealth. Bi-directional rotation is just as smooth though.

Where this ref really separates itself is the lume coverage. Way more generous than the blue version. The indices, the hands, and even the outer bezel markings all glow. Under UV it's kind of ridiculous actually, but we'll get to that.

If you're thinking "wait, this looks like the 007 Spectre edition" — you're not wrong. Similar vibe for sure. But line them up and the differences are clear. The bezel scale on the Spectre uses 0-1-2-3-4-5-6 markings while this one goes with the standard dive elapsed-time layout: 5-10-15-20. Dial indices are also laid out differently.

Caseback engraving is another tell. The Spectre had "8400" on the rotor, this one correctly reads "8912" to match the gen ref. VS didn't cut corners here. A lot of factories just slap on a universal engraving and call it a day — VS actually bothered to get it version-correct.

How to Verify You've Got a Real VS

Both of these run the VS Factory exclusive clone 8500 movement. Here's the quick LC method if you ever need it.

Unscrew the crown, pull to position 1. If only the hour hand moves independently — that's a VS. Pull to position 2 and the minute hand syncs up with the hour hand. That independent hour adjustment at position 1 is the dead giveaway for genuine VS product. Other factories can't replicate this.

One more thing worth noting. These look like the older Seamaster 150M on the surface, but check the text on the dial — it reads "Seamaster 300." The water resistance rating corresponds to the 300M line, so some folks in the community call these the "new Seamaster 300." Fair enough.

Lume Shot

Hit it with a UV lamp and the brightness is immediate. Minute hand and the pip at 12 o'clock glow green, everything else — hour markers, bezel indices — comes up blue. Matches the gen's dual-color lume layout exactly. Honestly one of the best lume performances I've seen from VS in a while.

Bracelet & Clasp

Same bracelet on both. Center links are brushed, outer links polished — gives it that layered finishing you'd expect. The clasp has a diver's extension built in, hit the PUSH button and it slides right out for on-the-fly adjustment.

Need to size it down? Each link has a small screw on the side. Remove the screw, there's a pin running through the middle — push it out with a toothpick or a paperclip and you're good. Nothing fancy, just straightforward.

Final Take

The VS Factory Omega Seamaster 233.30.41.21.01.001 in either colorway is a no-brainer at this price. The 8500 clone movement has years of proven reliability behind it, the finishing is tight across the board, and there's no obvious corner-cutting anywhere I can see. If you're in the market for a daily-wear Seamaster rep, these two belong at the top of your shortlist.
