Where it gets interesting is the dial and hands — 007 edition specific elements that give it a completely different wrist presence compared to the regular models.

Build quality? Genuinely flawless on this one. I went over it pretty carefully and couldn't find anything to complain about.

How to Tell VS Factory From the Smaller Factories

This is a big one. Lot of people get burned buying what they think is a VS Seamaster and end up with some random small factory version. Here's what to check.

Crown test. Pull the crown to the first position. On a genuine VS Factory movement, you can independently adjust just the hour hand. Small factory pieces can't do this — dead giveaway right there.

Shock absorber. Flip it over and look through the caseback. VS always uses a dual trapezoidal shock absorber on the balance wheel. If you see anything else, it's not VS. Simple as that.

The Round Rotor — Yeah It's Actually Round

OK so this is probably my favorite detail on this particular ref. Most Seamasters use a standard semi-circular rotor. Pretty much every automatic watch does. But the 007 edition? Full circle rotor.

Looks weird at first. You might wonder if it even works properly — like how does a perfectly round disc create the weight differential needed to spin and wind the mainspring?

There's a weighted bar along the bottom edge. So in practice it functions exactly like a normal rotor. Follows your wrist movement, winds just fine, power reserve is not an issue at all. The movement itself is rock solid. I've had zero issues.

One thing though. None of this matters if you don't actually get a legit VS Factory piece. The small factories cutting corners on the movement internals is exactly where the problems start.
