VS Factory Omega Seamaster 600M 215.30.44.21.03.001 — Blue Dial, Honest Breakdown

Alright so this is one I've been wanting to talk about for a while. The VS Factory Omega Seamaster 600M 215.30.44.21.03.001 in blue. Hands down my favorite rep in the Seamaster lineup right now, and probably the one I recommend more than anything else.

Not gonna sugarcoat it — this is the closest thing to gen you'll find in the rep game for a Seamaster 600M. The build quality, the dial work, the overall feel on wrist. VS just nailed it. Let me walk you through why.

The Ceramic Bezel — Liquidmetal Done Right

First thing you notice when you pick this up is the bezel. VS Factory went full sync with the gen process here — liquidmetal filled ceramic bezel, same technique Omega uses on the authentic piece.

You can actually feel the raised text on the bezel insert. That's the liquidmetal at work. For those unfamiliar — liquidmetal is an alloy that won't tarnish, won't scratch, won't fade over time. The markers stay crisp no matter how long you wear it. Ceramic itself is the same story. Anyone who's owned a ceramic bezel watch knows the deal: it simply doesn't scratch. Steel bezels get chewed up after a few months of daily wear. Ceramic? Still looks factory fresh a year in.

This alone puts the VS version way ahead of budget batches from smaller factories.

Dial Details Up Close

Sapphire crystal is super clear and bright. That high transparency really lets the blue dial pop.

The applied hour markers have a really nice polish to them — good light play, clean edges. Honestly if you put this next to a gen piece face-to-face, good luck telling them apart. The lume pip on the bezel is also spot-on to gen, which is something a lot of factories get wrong. VS got it right here. Not a small thing.

Date Adjustment — This Is How You Spot a Real VS

OK this part matters. A lot of people overlook it but it's actually one of the easiest tells for whether you've got a legit VS Factory piece or not.

Here's how the date change works on this ref:

Pull the crown to the first position. You'll see the hour hand starts moving — not the date. Keep turning. After the hour hand completes two full rotations, the date clicks forward by one. That's the slow date change mechanism, exactly how the genuine Omega caliber behaves.

Now here's the red flag. If you pull to the second position and the date jumps directly when you turn the crown — that's not VS Factory. Full stop. Could be a lower tier factory using the same case but with a different movement inside. The slow date change is a dead giveaway and super easy to check.

The 8900 Movement — Look for the Double-T Shock Absorber

This is the big one.

VS Factory's Seamaster 600M runs their in-house clone 8900 integrated movement. It's been around for a while now and it's proven — arguably the most stable and reliable movement in the entire rep Seamaster category.

So how do you verify it's actually VS? Flip it over and look for the double-T shock absorber.

Every single VS Factory Seamaster uses this configuration. It matches the gen layout. The movement itself was built from molds taken off the authentic caliber — jewels, screws, engravings, rotor, all of it lines up visually with the original.

One tiny difference: there's an extra support post inside that the gen doesn't have. Structural necessity for the clone movement. But honestly that's nitpicking at this point — what they've achieved here is seriously impressive.

Other factories? Their shock absorbers are usually round or gourd-shaped. You can spot the difference instantly. So if someone's trying to sell you a "VS" Seamaster, check two things: the double-T shock absorber and the slow date change. Those two alone will tell you everything.

HEV and Water Resistance

The helium escape valve on the case side — on the gen it's functional for saturation diving. On the VS rep it's decorative. Keep it screwed down tight at all times.

That said, this watch does offer some real water resistance. There are gaskets on both sides of the case. Washing hands, swimming, cold showers — all fine. Hot water is a no-go though, that'll compromise the seals. As long as you keep the crown locked down properly, daily splashes aren't a concern.

Bracelet and Overall Feel

316L stainless steel bracelet. Feels solid, has good weight to it. The finishing from case to bracelet flows well — no awkward transitions or gaps. On wrist it's got that satisfying heft and the polished center links catch light nicely.

Bottom Line

VS Factory has been dominating the Seamaster space for years now — the 150M, the 300M, the 600M, all of them. Smaller factories keep trying to catch up. None of them have.

If the Seamaster 600M is on your radar, the VS Factory 215.30.44.21.03.001 blue dial is the version to get. I've handled a lot of reps and this one consistently impresses me. Not perfect — nothing is — but it's as close as the rep world gets right now.

Quick LC Guide — How to Tell If It's Actually VS Factory:

What to Check VS Factory (Legit) Non-VS Factory (Red Flag)
Date Change Method Crown position 1 — hour hand rotates twice before date clicks forward (slow date change) Crown position 2 — date jumps directly
Movement Shock Absorber Double-T shock absorber (matches gen) Round or gourd-shaped shock absorber
Bezel Insert Liquidmetal filled ceramic — raised text, scratch-proof Printed or sprayed text — wears off over time
