VS Factory Omega Seamaster 600M 215.30.40.20.04.001 — White Ceramic Review

So VS Factory dropped a new Seamaster 600M config and honestly it caught my attention right away. Ref 215.30.40.20.04.001, white ceramic bezel. But here's what makes this one different from the usual Seamaster reps we talk about — it's 39.5mm. That's a mid-size piece. Not the chunky 42mm or 43.5mm that most guys are used to seeing in the Planet Ocean / Seamaster lineup.

Unisex sizing. Works on smaller wrists, works if you just prefer something that doesn't wear like a dinner plate. Let's get into it.

Actual Size — Measured, Not Just Spec Sheet

VS Factory lists this at 39.5mm. My caliper says otherwise.

Case diameter came in around 40.4mm. Lug-to-lug across the notch, 38.7mm. Thickness sits at 14.1mm. Not paper-thin by any means but for a 600M diver rep, it wears pretty comfortable. The proportions just work — doesn't feel top-heavy or awkward on wrist.

If you've got a 6.5" wrist and most 42mm+ divers feel too big, this is your ref.

The Bezel — Ceramic + Lume Pip

Unidirectional rotating bezel. Clicks are crisp, no wobble. Standard stuff for VS at this point.

What I want to highlight is the lume pip at 12 o'clock. This is the most accurate lume pip VS has ever done on a Seamaster. Shape, size, glow intensity — really dialed in. I've seen other factory versions where the pip is either too flat or the lume color is off. Not the case here.

The bezel insert itself is ceramic with enamel-filled numerals. Won't fade, won't discolor over time. This is the same technique gen uses. Some lower-tier reps do a paint fill that starts looking rough after a few months — that's not what's going on here.

Dial and Indices

Dial finishing is clean. The applied hour markers have a really nice polish to them — sharp edges, zero burrs. If you've followed my other VS Seamaster reviews you already know what to expect at this level. Not much to nitpick.

Side of the case has brushed finishing that's well-executed. Crown aligns flush. Tight tolerances all around.

HEV and Water Resistance

There's a helium escape valve at 10 o'clock. On the gen it's functional for saturation diving. On this rep it's decorative — but it does have gaskets inside and the watch is water resistant for daily use. Cold showers, swimming, no problem.

Avoid hot water though. Steam and heat will degrade the gaskets faster. This isn't a rep-specific issue either, same advice applies to gens. Just don't wear it in a hot tub or sauna and you're fine.

Bracelet — 316L Stainless Steel

Bracelet is 316L SS. And I'll say this straight up: VS Factory makes the best Seamaster bracelet in the rep game right now. Full stop.

I've handled pieces from other factories using similar clasp designs and the finishing just isn't there. The polished center links, the brushed outer links, the way everything articulates — VS clearly put extra effort into the Seamaster line specifically. You can feel it the moment you pick it up. It's got weight and it drapes properly.

How to Set It Up

Crown comes screwed down out of the box. Here's the rundown:

Winding — Unscrew the crown (rotate it downward until it pops out), then rotate upward. For a brand new watch, give it about 30 full turns to build up the power reserve.

Date — Pull the crown out one click. Rotate to set the date. The date window on this VS version is really well done, font and alignment are spot on.

Time — Pull out one more click to the furthest position. Rotate upward (counterclockwise) to set the time.

Pretty standard Seamaster operation. Nothing weird.

Movement Breakdown: Cal. 8800 Decorated Clone

This VS Seamaster 600M 215.30.40.20.04.001 runs the 8800 movement. Same caliber that's in the VS Seamaster 300 — if you're familiar with that watch, you know what you're getting.

The 8800 is a Seagull-based decorated movement. It's NOT the same as the 8500 or 8900 that you see in other Seamaster and Planet Ocean refs — those are integrated movements that VS produces with their own tooling. Different architecture entirely.

Key tell on the 8800: look at the shock absorber area. The VS in-house integrated movement has an extra post next to the shock absorber. This 8800 uses a plate bridge design with a dual-T shock absorber that matches the gen layout exactly. High accuracy on the movement side for this ref.

Quick Way to Verify It's Actually VS Factory

One easy tell. Flip the watch over and look at the caseback — specifically the 3D relief decoration on the display back. Right now, only VS Factory can pull off that level of depth and detail on the transparent caseback. Other factories have tried. None of them nail it.

If the caseback looks flat or the engraving lacks dimension, it's not VS.

Final Take

The 39.5mm sizing is what makes this ref stand out. Most Seamaster reps are 42mm+ and that limits who can actually wear them comfortably. This 215.30.40.20.04.001 opens it up.

Enamel ceramic bezel that won't fade. Best lume pip accuracy VS has done. 8800 decorated movement with correct dual-T shock absorber. 316L bracelet that genuinely outclasses anything else available right now. It's the highest version on the market for this ref and I don't think that's even debatable.
