You know the saying in the watch world. Green dials sell. Period. Ever since the Rolex Hulk took off and stayed hot for years, every brand has been jumping on the green train. PAM01056 is Panerai's entry in that lane. So how does VS Factory's rep stack up? Let's get into it.

Colorway and Strap Situation

Alright the military green dial paired with a black leather strap — I'm gonna be honest, it's not great looking. There's a green stitch running along the leather too which doesn't really help. Kinda mid.

But here's the save. It comes with a green rubber strap. Swap that on and the whole vibe changes. Way more modern, way more wearable. Younger feel to it.

Comfort-wise the leather is stiff, not the best on wrist. The rubber though? Super soft, hugs the wrist nicely. Daily wear no question you're going rubber.

Case Size and Dial Details

Before this PAM01056 we already reviewed the 1055. Both green dials but the 1056 comes in at 44mm versus 42mm on the 1055. Measured it with calipers — dead on with gen specs.

Pop the crown guard open, wind clockwise — that's your power reserve right there. Winding feel is smooth, good resistance, nothing sloppy. VS Factory runs their own clone movement on Panerai reps so you get quick-set hour hand for date adjustment.

Date at 3 o'clock does a slow jump. Also supports reverse date change. Exactly like gen. Two clicks out and you're setting the time. The GMT hand adjustment on this piece is actually one of the cooler functional details — adds character.

One thing. After you set everything make sure you press that crown guard tight. Otherwise your water resistance is compromised.

Classic Panerai DNA

This VS Factory PAM01056 keeps all the signature Panerai elements intact. Sandwich dial. Crown guard bridge. 316L stainless steel case. Nothing feels off or overlooked honestly.

Caseback

Flip it over. You get the MS Dhoni engraving — his portrait plus signature. The number 138 references his highest score in a match, specifically during a 2016 game against Sri Lanka. Limited edition serial number is there too, along with the 300m water resistance marking. Nice radial brushing on the caseback finish.

Movement

P.9101 clone movement inside. Timekeeping is accurate, balance wheel size and position are spot on versus gen. VS Factory has always been solid on Panerai movements and this one keeps that reputation going. No complaints.

On Wrist

44mm sounds chunky but trust me — Asian wrists can pull it off no problem and Western wrists even more so. Doesn't wear as big as the number suggests. Throw the green rubber on there and it looks proper.
