So VS just dropped their PAM01529 and honestly, this one's a looker. Retail sits around 120k+ RMB, 44mm case which is standard Panerai sizing. Let's get into it.

First Impressions

Carbon fiber case. Blue dial. Red small seconds. The color combo hits different in person — way more striking than photos suggest. You've got the classic sandwich dial with vertical line indices, pure Panerai DNA right there.

Solid caseback on this one, no movement visible from the outside. Which means zero tells from that angle.

How to Tell if It's Actually VS

Here's something worth knowing. VS uses their own exclusive movement, and depending on the gen reference they engrave different caliber numbers — 9001, 9010, P9000, etc. But the real giveaway? Pull the crown to position one for date adjustment. The hour hand rotates two full turns before the date jumps once. Minute hand stays completely still during this.

Other factories? Their Panerai reps use quick-set date at position one. It just clicks through rapidly and you can even reverse it. Dead giveaway.

VS basically owns the Panerai rep game right now. Most complete lineup, best finishing. Not really up for debate in the community.

Up Close — Macro Shots

The carbon fiber texture on the case looks legit. Side profile shows clean lines and that material basically doesn't scratch. Blue dial has this sunburst pattern that's super refined under light, hard to capture on camera but trust me it pops.

Hands are clean. Sandwich lume layers are even across every index. Date window sits properly centered — no crooked printing.

9 o'clock small seconds with that red hand adds a nice accent. Threw it under extreme macro and still couldn't find anything to complain about. VS really nailed the details on this ref.

The Strap

Natural rubber strap. The blue section on top has this sailcloth texture — looks like canvas but it's actually rubber compound. Gives you the aesthetic without sacrificing durability or comfort. There's a red stripe with "Luna Rossa" printed on it. Italian for "red moon" if you're curious.

Strap is soft out of the box, no break-in period needed. Pin buckle, nothing fancy but solid.

Setting & Reliability

Crown out to position two, rotate down to set the time. Smooth action, good tactile feedback. This movement has a very low failure rate from what I've seen — stability is not a concern with VS Panerai movements at this point. They've had enough batches out to prove it.
