I finally got hands on multiple colorways and spent some real wrist time with them. Gotta say — the comfort on this thing is unreal. Easily top 3 among all the reps I've worn.

The Movement Situation Has Changed

If you were around a few years back, you know 3K Factory basically had a monopoly on the 324 movement clone. They were THE option for the Aquanaut 5167A. Nobody else had it.

That's done now. Contract expired. Multiple factories got access to the 324 caliber mold, and we're seeing PPF, BBF, and others jumping into Patek reps — both the Grenade and the Nautilus 5711.

Here's what matters though. The DDF Factory Patek Philippe 5167A ships with an engraved version of the 324 integrated movement. Deeper engravings, sharper text. Side by side with the 3K version? This one's cleaner. Not even close honestly.

Caseback — The Small Rotor Tells the Story

Flip it over. You'll notice the automatic winding rotor uses a small gear system that spins in sync when you tilt the watch. That's how you know it's a proper 324 clone and not a modded Miyota 9015. The 9015 conversions use a noticeably larger gear — dead giveaway if you know what to look for.

The engravings across the movement bridges are well-defined. Much more legible than what 3K was putting out.

Case Finishing

No complaints here. The chamfering along the case edges is sharp and consistent. Brushed and polished surfaces transition smoothly — no weird buffing marks or uneven lines. For a rep Aquanaut at this tier, the case shape accuracy and finishing quality are genuinely impressive. Holds up well under a loupe too.

Dial and Date Window

Color matching on the dial is spot on. The texture has that signature Aquanaut embossed pattern with good depth.

Date window — printed using a raised ink process. Font sits centered in the aperture, no obvious misalignment. These small things add up. You don't always notice them until you compare a sloppy version next to a clean one. This is the clean one.

Strap & Clasp — Daily Wear Approved

One of the best things about the Aquanaut has always been the tropical composite strap. Soft, flexible, sits flat on the wrist. DDF Factory nailed the feel here. It's comfortable enough for all-day wear without leaving marks or feeling stiff.

The clasp is the older-style deployment buckle. Clicks shut with a solid snap. Feels sturdy, doesn't wobble. I actually prefer this over some of the newer butterfly clasps that feel flimsy after a few months.

Crown Operation & Water Resistance

Screw-down crown. Unscrew it, push up to hand-wind. Pull to first position for date. Second position for time setting.

One thing worth noting — it doesn't hack. Meaning the seconds hand keeps running when you pull the crown to set time. That's actually correct behavior for the gen Patek Philippe Aquanaut. So yeah, they got that right.

Winding feel is smooth. No gritty resistance. Water resistance is solid for daily use — rain, hand washing, all fine.

Color Options

DDF Factory dropped the Aquanaut 5167A in several strap colors. Same watch head across all of them, just different bands:

The two precious metal versions come with proper counterweights so the heft feels like the real deal. Nice touch.

Singapore 2019 Special Edition

There's also a Singapore limited edition in this batch. Red theme throughout — dial accents, hands, sub-dial markers, strap, all red. The caseback carries a dedicated Singapore 2019 engraving which sets it apart from the standard references.

If you're into something a bit different from the usual black-on-black Aquanaut, this one's got personality.

Final Take

Look, the DDF Factory Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A super clone checks pretty much every box. Engraved 324 integrated movement that's better than what 3K had. Case finishing that holds up to scrutiny. Comfortable strap. Correct non-hacking behavior. Multiple colorways to choose from.

For daily wear? Absolutely. Water resistance and movement stability are both solid. If you've been on the fence about a rep Grenade, this version from DDF Factory is the one I'd point you toward right now.
