So this one's a bit different. The VS Factory Panerai Luminor PAM01663, 44mm, gen retail around 12.1W RMB. Carbon fiber case. Real carbon fiber, not that coated steel nonsense some smaller factories try to pass off.

VS has been on a tear lately with Panerai reps. I remember when they had maybe ten references total. Now? Easily 30+. They're cranking them out. Let's get into this one.

Dial

Deep blue gradient. Darker as it moves toward the edges, almost black at the outer rim. Looks great in person — photos don't fully capture it. 3 o'clock date window, small seconds at 9. Classic sandwich dial construction, nothing fancy beyond the color work. Clean.

Lume is insane on this thing. That's half the reason people get into Panerai in the first place right? Massive lume plots, crazy bright. You don't even need to hold it close in the dark — it just pops.

The Case — This Is Where It Gets Interesting

PAM01663 runs a full carbon fiber case but not all one color. Bezel is black carbon. The mid-case? Cement grey carbon fiber. Back to black on the caseback. Kinda looks like an Oreo situation going on. The grain pattern on the grey section is genuinely nice.

Now here's the thing. A lot of budget factories claim carbon fiber but they're literally using steel with a coating on top. Dead giveaway — the texture looks off and the weight is noticeably heavier. VS used actual carbon fiber here. You pick it up and you know immediately.

Sapphire crystal up front. Crown guard area uses the same black carbon treatment, titanium internals with sharp clean engravings.

Movement & Strap

VS clone P9010 inside. Quick-set hour hand for date adjustment, forward and reverse — matches gen functionality. Best Panerai movement on the rep market right now, been saying that for a while and nothing's changed.

Strap is a blue composite material on the outside, water resistant, with a square pattern texture and white stitching. Flip it over and there's a calfskin liner so it's actually comfortable on wrist. Ti buckle with branding.

How to Set It

Quick rundown. Pop the crown guard open — be gentle, it's slim. Wind it by turning the crown, about 30 turns for a fresh watch. Pull to first position: quick-set the hour hand to change the date, works both directions. Second position: set the time. Push everything back, close the guard. Done.

On Wrist

44mm on my 17.5cm wrist. Wears big but not stupid big. The carbon fiber keeps the weight way down so you kinda forget it's there after a while. That's the whole point of carbon on a 44mm case honestly.
