In-Depth Review: VS Factory Panerai Luminor PAM01312 (Super Clone)

Finally back in stock. The VS Factory PAM01312 has been out of production for months — seriously, months — and the number of people hitting us up asking about this watch was insane. Couldn't get one anywhere. We just got a piece in, so let's break it down.

PAM01312 vs PAM00312 — What Actually Changed?

So the 1312 is basically the slimmed-down 312. Think of it as the diet version. Cosmetically? Not a huge leap. But there are a few key differences worth knowing.

The seconds hand went from white to blue. Small thing, big visual impact. On the dial, the 1312 now has a line of text along the bottom that the old 312 didn't have. And then the big ones — the 312 was a display caseback, the 1312 goes solid. Thickness dropped from 18mm down to roughly 15.5mm. That's a noticeable difference on the wrist.

2.5mm might not sound like much on paper. On your wrist it's night and day.

Build Quality — VS Factory Doing What They Do

Look, if you've been in the rep game for any amount of time you already know. VS owns Panerai and Omega. That's just how it is. Nobody else is even close. Every batch they put out is the ceiling — best dials, best finishing, best movement integration. One factory dominating two entire brands and nobody can touch them.

Here's what you're looking at spec-wise: <table> <tr><th>Spec</th><th>Detail</th></tr> <tr><td>Case</td><td>316L stainless steel</td></tr> <tr><td>Diameter</td><td>44mm</td></tr> <tr><td>Thickness</td><td>15.5mm</td></tr> <tr><td>Crystal</td><td>Sapphire, high transparency</td></tr> <tr><td>Dial</td><td>Sandwich construction (3-layer)</td></tr> <tr><td>Strap</td><td>Calfskin leather (stiff out of the box)</td></tr> <tr><td>Caseback</td><td>Solid / closed</td></tr> </table>

44mm is not small. If you've got thinner wrists, try before you commit — or at least measure. This thing wears big.

The sandwich dial is done right. Three layers — lume layer, base layer, top dial plate — all stacked the way gen does it. Lume hits every marker and both hands. Visibility in low light is excellent, no complaints there.

One thing about the strap. The stock calfskin is pretty stiff when it first arrives. It'll break in after a week or so of wear. Or just swap it for a croc strap if that bothers you. Honestly the croc upgrade makes this watch look way more premium anyway.

Movement: Clone P9010

This is where it matters. VS fitted the PAM01312 with their in-house clone P9010 — an integrated movement, not a decorated base caliber with a plate on top.

How do you tell it's truly integrated? Pull the crown to the date position and watch the hour hand. If the hour hand moves when you're adjusting the date, that's your confirmation — it's a one-piece movement. If the hour hand stays still while the date jumps? Not integrated. Simple as that.

Crown operation: first pull adjusts date, second pull adjusts minutes. Clean and straightforward.

The solid caseback actually works in this watch's favor from a rep perspective. No movement to scrutinize means fewer tells. Higher overall accuracy to gen.

Final Take

The VS Factory PAM01312 is a legit upgrade over the old 312. Slimmer, cleaner on the wrist, and that solid caseback eliminates a lot of the usual anxiety. Movement is proper, finishing is proper, dial work is proper. It's VS — you know what you're getting.
