Alright, so VS Factory just dropped a new piece and I got my hands on it — the Omega Constellation 131.33.41.21.03.001 in blue. Been waiting on this one for a while honestly. The Constellation doesn't get nearly enough love in the rep community compared to the Seamaster or Speedmaster, but this blue dial config is a proper dressy piece. Figured I'd go through everything I noticed.

Case Size & Build Quality

Measured the case diameter at 41mm. Spot on with gen. Thickness came in around 13.6mm which is just a hair thicker than the genuine — we're talking maybe half a millimeter, not something you'd notice on wrist at all.

The whole case is 316L stainless steel. Those four signature "claws" on the bezel? All polished. They catch light really well and honestly give the watch a much more premium look than photos can show. One thing I want to mention — since the Constellation is basically a dress watch, the edges matter. You don't want it snagging your shirt cuff when you slide it under a sleeve. This one's smooth all around, no sharp transitions. Good job there.

The Blue Ceramic Bezel

This is actually a first for the Constellation line — ceramic bezel. Previous versions were either polished metal or diamond-set. So the blue ceramic is a nice change of pace. Adds a bit of sportiness to what's otherwise a very dressy watch. The color pops without being loud, if that makes sense.

Dial Details

The dial's got a sunburst pattern radiating outward from the central star logo. Under different lighting it shifts and plays with shadows — pretty cool effect. Color-wise, VS nailed it. The shade of blue is very close to gen. Minimal color deviation from what I can tell.

Sword-shaped hands with lume fill in the center. Applied hour markers, polished to a mirror finish. Put it all together and the first impression is solid. Doesn't look cheap at all.

Strap & Clasp

But the rubber backing on the underside matches gen, and it actually makes the strap quite comfortable against the skin. Stitching is neat and even. The leather itself is soft — doesn't feel stiff out of the box.

Difference from gen movement: The genuine Omega uses a free-sprung balance (no regulator). VS Factory's version has a regulated balance with an additional adjustment post and a black balance wheel. Beyond that, the internal architecture mirrors the original.

Here's the big one though. The date quick-set actually works correctly. Pull the crown to the first position, rotate the hour hand through two full cycles, and the date jumps. Forward and backward. Same logic as gen. For a rep, that's a pretty meaningful detail to get right.

Date Wheel

Blue background, white numerals — keeps it cohesive with the dial theme. Something subtle: the odd numbers (1 through 9) are printed in a bolder weight, while the even numbers are thinner. Matches gen. Small thing, but it shows VS paid attention to the typography on the date disc, which a lot of factories skip.

On the Wrist

Operation is dead simple. Crown position one for date, position two for time. Standard three-hand-with-date stuff. Screw the crown back down when you're done. The strap is genuinely comfortable for extended wear — the rubber backing helps a lot with that.

Final Thoughts

Solid release from VS Factory. The case finishing is clean, that blue ceramic bezel gives the Constellation a more modern feel, the sunburst dial is well-executed, and the 8900 movement with working date quick-set is a nice touch. The only real callout is the calf leather vs. alligator strap, but that's a known trade-off and easy enough to swap down the line if it bothers you.
