Dial Finishing

Crystal clarity is on point — sapphire glass, very transparent, zero distortion. Look at the hands and hour markers up close. The edges catch light beautifully, no rough spots or burrs anywhere. That's something you notice immediately when a rep is done right versus done cheap.

Lume fill across the indices is clean and even. Pure white, no dark spots or blotchy patches bleeding through. The hands get the same treatment. Printed text on the dial is sharp, nothing bleeds or looks fuzzy. Date window has that trapezoid cutout dropping inward, gives it proper depth. And the applied Omega logo sits where it should — centered, raised, no glue residue around the edges.

Crown & HEV Operation

There's a helium escape valve on the case side. You can unscrew it but there's literally no reason to. Leave it alone.

The crown is screw-down. Unscrew it counterclockwise to unlock. Pull it up one click — that's your date quickset (the 8800 clone does fast-adjust, so no hassle there). Pull out one more click for time setting. Push back in, screw it down clockwise until snug. Done.

Strap Quality & Case Details

The leather strap is a hybrid — genuine leather on the top surface, rubber on the underside. Smart combo. Looks premium face-up but won't get gross with sweat. Side edges show brushed finishing, feels refined under the fingers.

Caseback engravings are crisp. 600M/2000FT marking, the globe logo, all properly defined. Flip the strap over and you'll find the Omega branding plus a serial code stamped inside. Even the clasp has the logo engraved internally. Small stuff but it adds up.

Rose Gold Variant

The rose gold version gets gold-plated bezel, crown, and HEV cap — all electroplated. Should hold up fine for two or three years of regular wear without fading. Movement inside is identical.
