VS Factory Omega Seamaster 150M 220.10.41.21.01.001 – Black Teak Dial Hands-On

I covered the VS Factory Seamaster 150M lineup before. This time I'm pulling out the black teak dial variant for a closer look — the ref 220.10.41.21.01.001 specifically.

The 150M series comes in several dial colors. Mine here is the black face with that teak pattern across the dial. Older batches from VS had vertical stripes, but those seem to be discontinued now. Everything coming out of the factory is teak texture these days.

Build Quality Up Close

Honestly when it comes to the rep Seamaster game — 300M, 150M, 600M, doesn't matter — VS just doesn't have real competition right now. You look at the hands, the applied indices, the finishing on the hour markers. It's all there.

Flip it to the side. Brushing on the case is defined, polished surfaces are clean. The whole watch keeps things minimal which I appreciate. Crown has a nice sandblasted texture to it. Not much else to nitpick.

Clasp and Bracelet

Butterfly clasp on this one. Different from what you get on the Seamaster 300 — that's a different clasp design altogether. Pop it open, engravings inside are all present and legible. Numbers, logos, the usual stuff.

Bracelet removal is pretty straightforward too. I did a full strap swap tutorial on the Seamaster series a while back if anyone needs a reference for that.

The Dandong 8900 Movement

So this 220.10.41.21.01.001 runs the Dandong 8900 series movement. Semi-clone, still built around a 2836 base. This movement is exclusive to VS Factory — they've held it for roughly six years now and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Date changeover works the way it should. Not an instant jump. Slow transition starting around 10:30, fully clicks over by midnight. That's correct to gen behavior. Date adjustment is also done right: two full rotations of the hour hand equals one day forward. No complaints there.

Final Thoughts

The black teak dial on this VS Factory Seamaster 150M? Zero color deviation issues. White dial is even less of a concern. Blue has a very slight delta but honestly it's negligible — you won't notice on wrist.

Movement stability has been solid across the board with the 8900. Daily wear, no issues.

One more thing. If the steel bracelet feels heavy to you, just swap it out for a rubber strap. Drops the weight noticeably and it's way more comfortable in warmer weather. Overall the 220.10.41.21.01.001 is one of VS Factory's most mature and reliable pieces at this point. Hard to go wrong with it.
