VS Factory Omega Seamaster 300 210.62.42.20.01.001 Gold Case 007 Limited Edition Review

Alright so this one's a bit special. VS Factory just dropped a gold case version of the Seamaster 300, ref 210.62.42.20.01.001 — the James Bond 007 "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" 50th anniversary limited edition.

We already covered the silver version a while back. Now they've gone and made the gold. Big difference between the two? Material, obviously. But also the production numbers. The silver was limited to 7,007 pieces. This gold case? Only 257. That's a seriously small run.

Specs at a Glance

42mm case diameter, roughly 13.5mm thick. Movement is the same base as the regular Seamaster 300 — a 2837 rebuilt into a clone Cal.8800 decorated movement. Honestly the clone 8800 does a decent job. Crown operation is identical to the standard Seamaster 300: push for winding, first pull for date, second pull for time with hacking seconds. Nothing complicated.

The Dial — Packed with 007 Details

This is where it gets interesting. The ceramic dial on this piece looks nothing like the regular Seamaster 300. Totally different layout, different vibe.

Every hour marker — round indices, square indices, the hands, the seconds hand tip — all finished in gold tone. Gives the whole thing a much more premium feel compared to the standard version. You can tell right away this isn't just another Seamaster.

The dial surface has this sort of frosted matte texture on the ceramic. Hard to describe but it adds another layer of character. And then there's the Bond stuff scattered across the dial:

  • 12 o'clock — an inverted triangle marker, looks like a three-dot dice pattern
  • 10 o'clock — a subtle "50" print for the 50th anniversary
  • 7 o'clock — "007" printed right into the dial

All of it tied to the film. Pretty cool if you're into the lore.

Center of the dial has a swirl pattern radiating outward — almost like a vortex design. Omega and the Bond franchise go back 20-30 years at this point so these collab pieces always carry a bit of extra weight in the Seamaster lineup.

Strap, Case Side & Caseback

Rubber strap feels fine. Clasp engravings are where they should be. No complaints there.

Side of the case is engraved "No.011/257" for the limited edition numbering. Below that you get the Omega logo and the Au750 precious metal hallmark stamp. Now — gen is solid gold obviously. This is a plated case. So yeah there's going to be a weight difference on wrist. That's just the reality of it.

Flip it over. The four corners of the caseback show Au 750 markings and serial codes, all present and accounted for. The Omega globe logo on the back is impressively sharp — even zoomed in several times over it holds up well. The crystal has a printed pattern overlay which partially obscures the movement view, but that actually helps the overall gen-likeness since it hides some of the finer movement details.

Final Take on the VS Factory Omega Seamaster 300 210.62.42.20.01.001

Build quality on this one is solid as expected from VS. If gold-tone watches are your thing and the 007 tie-in appeals to you, this 210.62.42.20.01.001 is worth a look. The 257-piece limited run also makes it stand out a bit from the rest of the Seamaster 300 range.

That's it for this one. Catch you next time.
