VS Factory Omega Constellation 123.10.38.21.02.003 — Hands-On Review

Got this one in hand today. VS Factory Omega Constellation 123.10.38.21.02.003, white dial. No color deviation on the dial at all — just clean.

Let's get into it.

Size & Thickness

Calipers say 38mm. Spot on with gen specs. Thickness comes in at about 13.45mm, which honestly feels fine on wrist. The Constellation has always leaned dressy-casual anyway, so that thickness isn't an issue here.

Dial Work

The white dial looks sharp. What really stands out is how VS handled the faceting on the indices — you tilt it under light and you get that irregular, angular reflection that the gen is known for. Not a flat, dead shine. It actually plays with light the way it should.

Lume fill on the hour markers is even. Hands have good brightness too. Date window sits where it's supposed to, and the cyclops magnification matches gen. Nothing off there.

Date Change Function

So a lot of people ask — is this an instant date change or does it get stuck? Neither. VS Factory went with a semi-instant jump. Starts prepping around 11-something, fully clicks over right around midnight. The alignment after the jump is clean.

Wind the crown a couple turns and the date flips through no problem. Pull it out to the first position, same thing — two turns and it jumps. Functions exactly like gen. Bit more tedious to operate maybe, but you can also quick-set one day at a time. Works fine either way.

Here's the thing though. This date mechanism? Only VS can do it right now. And that's actually the easiest way to tell if a watch is genuinely from VS Factory — just mess with the date function and you'll know.

The 8500 Movement

Push the crown back in and start winding. You can immediately see this is a real integrated movement. The transfer wheels on both sides actually spin — they're functional, not decorative. This is not a decorated plate movement pretending to be something it isn't.

Movement finishing from VS is solid. 8500 marking is there. Rotor position at 6 o'clock matches gen. Black balance wheel. The shape of the balance wheel and the shock absorber setup — all consistent with the original.

One tell though. VS uses a regulator, so there are two pins visible. Gen is free-sprung, only one pin. That's basically the only difference you'll spot on the movement side. Everything else lines up.

Caseback & Serial Numbers

Engravings on the caseback are well done. Branding matches gen. The serial number on the case, the hang tag, and the warranty card all match each other — they correspond. Worth noting that a lot of these serials get reused across units. Just how it is in the rep game.

Bracelet

The Constellation bracelet is iconic on its own. VS nailed the finishing on the link connections — polishing and brushing are both well executed. Edges have that rounded bevel treatment just like gen. Feels comfortable on wrist, good weight distribution across the links.

Clasp action is smooth. Butterfly double-push deployant opens easy, no fumbling. Brand engraving on the clasp is clean. Honestly one of the more wearable reps out there just in terms of how the bracelet sits.

Final Take

VS Factory Omega Constellation 123.10.38.21.02.003 in white — it's a strong piece. The dial finishing, the integrated 8500 clone movement, that semi-instant date jump that nobody else can replicate yet. All of it works. Bracelet feel is great, the overall build quality is up there. Telling this apart from gen based on looks alone? Really tough. The Constellation is one of Omega's most recognizable designs and VS did it justice with this one.
