Alright let's talk about this one. The VS Factory Panerai LUMINOR 1950 PAM00351 has been on my radar for a while and honestly it's one of those pieces where the specs just make sense once you strap it on.

Two things sell this watch. Material and movement. That's it.

The Titanium Thing

PAM00351 in gen uses titanium. VS kept that the same here — actual titanium case. And the difference on wrist? Night and day compared to steel.

This is a big watch. No getting around that. But 121g on the scale. That's roughly 34g lighter than a Sub. You forget it's there after a while which is kind of the whole point with these oversized Panerai cases.

Quick rant though. I keep seeing people in forums picking up a rep, bouncing it in their hand, and going "feels light, must be cheap." Stop. That's not how any of this works anymore. Small seconds subdial at 9 with that torpedo-shaped hand. Crown guard bridge. All the signature DNA is there and none of it feels phoned in.

Strap and Wearability

Comes on a calfskin leather strap with a pin buckle. Buckle finishing is solid. The leather will be stiff out of the box — that's just how Panerai straps are, gen or rep. Give it a week of wear or wrap it around a watch pillow overnight to break it in. Gets way more comfortable once the leather softens up and curves to your wrist.

One nice touch: quick-release spring bars. Push the tab with a toothpick, press the lever, strap comes right off. Makes swapping between leather and rubber a painless two-minute job.
